DIY baby mobile

mobile

i just finished a mobile for baby girl's room! it took many hours of cutting circles & hot gluing, but i am so very happy with how it turned out. i saw this mobile on pinterest a few weeks ago & fell in love with it, but didn't feel like spending almost $200 for it. so, i made my own!
& i just love it.
i hope baby girl does too!

this week, i got crafty.

babybibs

babybibs

i made sweet little baby bibs for a friend of mine who is having a boy! these were so fun to make, and not too terribly difficult. I'm planning on making these babies my go-to baby shower present. i also helped to throw the baby shower for this particular pregnant friend, i'll post photos of it later this week. promise!

last Sunday as a single lady!

& i'm enjoying it ♥
ya ya!
basically let me just say that i love the young women in my ward.
i was laurel president basically all of my two years there,
and gained such a love for each of those tiny princesses.
i feel like their mommy & they make me smile!
so, i want them in my wedding.
as my Tiny Wedding Waitresses!
i made them presh aprons to wear, wanna see?

i stopped in to Young Womens today & sent around a sign up sheet,
saying that i could only take 4 girls but it'd be great to get some stand-by's.
& when i got the sheet back,
it was completely filled.
front & back.
i love my young women ♥

this coming week is going to be THUH best. EFF-ERRRRR! Gahhhhhhhh i can't wait!
Trav gets in to Mesa tomorrow at 4ish pm.
do you know what that means?

that means at 4pm when you look at your clock and wonder, "gee, i sure hope there is some happiness in the world right now!"
never fear.
because there IS. and basically all the world's happiness will reside in me.
tiny though i am, i can hold a heckofuh lot of happiness.
because tomorrow at 4ish pm,
i get to hold hands with the man of my dreams again.
& i kinda can't wait!

craftiness #2

so! i've been crafty again. faaaaaaaaaabulous!
i found a set of podunka-dunka-dunk shutters at goodwill a few weeks ago.
i've gotta be honest, they were sicknast. but! i purchased its sad being anyway,
with a vision in mind.
{sorry i don't have a photo of the "before", i kinda epic failed there.}

for this heap of craftiness i used two cans of spray paint, nails & picture hanger wire, and about twenty clothespins.

finished product, anyone?
please excuse my painter's tarp,
there is an unfortunate lack of bare wallspace in my house.

i absolutely ADORE this idea of mine!
i lovelovelove photos,
& i lovelovelove sharing my photos.
this will be kick ace hanging in my apartment.

i distressed the woodwork with blue acrylic,
& am very happy with how it looks
{smile}

the picture wire is suspended across by nails secured into the back of the frame,

on the shutter doors i installed McPresh knobs from Anthropologie,
ohhhhhhhhh
how. i. love. anthro.

i used clothespins to hang the photos,
& personalized with stamps.
it's alllllllll about the stamps baby.

there you have it folks,
 my presh shutters.
this was a crawesome project,
i have a few more ideas up my sleeve, hopefully i'll get to finish them!

we'll see how lazy i am in the upcoming weeks.
have a cute day!

btw, today is my birthday.
& i'm kinda giddy about it.

craftiness #1

So! Mama bought these wierd cheapo wood blocks at Lowe's. She had a cute idea for them which I completed for her... and here they are!

She had bunches left over, so i used a few for da future laur&trav apartment! ROCK ON!
here's what i did-duh-duh:
1: sand down the 12x13 wood blocks. ladies & gents, i used POWER TOOLS! today, i became a woman.
2. paint the sides, it's like your frame! i used blue because it's what i had. party.
3. attach the scrapbook paper. i used a spray adhesive for these wood blocks, so that the paper wouldn't bubble or crack.
step 4. prettify!
stamps became my best friend during this project; it's all about the personalization! this little heart is my favorite, trav found it on the ground one night while we were still in school and brought it to me because, "it made me think of you."
it's the little things that keep us young. ha!
glitter glue makes my heart sing! a little bling makes this paper pop.... mama likes.
once again... i heart stamps! & scripture. i definitely heart scripture.

i just HAD to throw a daisy in there! When i flew into Boise for the first time to meet his family, Trav surprised me at the airport with a bouquet of daisies. {i know right!? i totes love him.} So, i saved one.

a wooden "W" for our future family name, painted & distressed by moi {or however you say it}
sandpaper does wonders.
i had to screw this puppy in, you can just see the nail above the lace&tool bow. well actually... andrew had to screw it in, i couldn't do it. p90x only does so much!
this one i let alone.. the pattern itself was hot enough without my help.
i added a few embellishments to this one on a whim... i'm happy with how it turned out!

"Anyone can be passionate; it takes real love to be silly."
because, that's kinda who trav & i are. {smiles}
the presh little stickers are from Michael's, the photo i edited using picnik.com. PARTY!

well, there's my i'm-home-for-summer-with-no-job project number one! i'll have to take a picca once they're actually hanging in our newlywed apartment.
have a sunny day!

My finds!

This little table and its twin I found at Savers! They were looking all beat up and ugly, so I painted them and did a little detail. Notice the flowers in the corner! Now they make wonderful nightstands.

As I was helping with The Arizona Desert Dolphins' (my synchronized swimming team) rummage sale, this pretty thing was in a pile of the randoms. I just had to have it! I got it for 5$ right on the spot and couldn't have been happier with it. And the only thing that needed work was the upholstering! It was an easy fix.

Oh oh these are my favorites! At Savers they have a bunch of little *cough* crappy *cough* frames. I painted them and did some distressing, and now use them to showcase some of my designs!

My four-foot flower! A retail store in downtown Mesa was going out of business, so everything had to go. I got this for somewhere around 5$, maybe a little more. I absolutely love it! Notice how I use it to hide my space heater. =)

Last but definitely not least, my SHOES! I have quite a few... if you couldn't tell. My mama got me these shoes hangers, and I just love them. Thank you mama!
