Visiting Carthage

our first stop in illinois was to visit the Carthage Jail, where Joseph Smith was maundered. this was my first time visiting the site, i was looking forward to feeling the spirit that was there, as well as being able to remember the great influence that Joseph Smith had on so many lives.

Carthage was an amazing place. while in that teeny tiny town t & i stopped to get some Chinese food, and um word to the wise? don't go for Chinese east of the Mississippi. travis threw it all up not three hours later.  poor boo.
and speaking of the Mississippi, it's HUGE! oh it was the coolest thing, and it actually exists! i mean, i guess i knew it existed-everybody kept talking about it like it was real- but it was so cool to actually see it in person! guess how many times t & i spelled out M-I-S-S-I-S-S-I-P-P-I while on this trip?
way too many times.
we are cool sometimes.

aw, all of you are so darn cute! and Carthage is definitely an inspiring spot. I remember going years ago and it just blew me away thinking about Joseph and Hyrum being there. It defintely held a special spirit.
