christmas 2012

so now that it's almost the end of january and everything, i thought it would be the perfect time to blog about christmas. i'm all about making the christmas cheer last as long as possible, apparently. the t&l family spent christmas in beautiful, bright arizona with my family this year! the highlights were definitely seeing les mis with my sisters & mom at the very last minute ("RUN!! RUN!!!") eating my oma's annual red beet soup on christmas eve (and annually spitting it into a napkin when oma isn't looking) seeing millie mae in her darlign little christmas pajamas, and making my mom cry when i gave her the personalized family calendar i made for her. i think my new goal for christmas time is to make her cry. it's not hard to make moms cry so why not!
by the way, this is the photo i used for the cover of her calendar. a complete family photo of my family didn't exist at the time so i photoshopped in travis, michael (my brand spanking new brother-in-law!) and little mills.
we took new family photos shortly after christmas... but i think this one will go down in history as "most awesome like ever".

Our New Years

I'll start by saying that our New Years was a little unconventional this year. Travis spent the night with our weekend manager, Patrick, swabbing the deck of Sammy's. They were waxing it, or something. It had to be done on a Saturday night so that it could dry all day Sunday... so it had to be New Years. Just our luck! So, it seemed that Amy (Pat's wife) & I would be husband-less for New Years Eve. But, we made the best of it.

So, while our husbands were doing this,


We had grabbed our husband's big shirts and pairs of our old shoes & were making these. 






Glitter shoes!!! We used a tutorial via pinterest (like duh) and they turned out so beautifully! I couldn't have been happier.


Once the shoes had dried we head over to Sammy's with Martinelli's just in time to scream "HAPPY NEW YEAR" and kiss our hard working husbands.

resolutions

Resolutions. It's so very important to have goals because when those goals are completed, that happy, warm feeling of confidence is better than almost anything. Here are a few of my goals, goals which are not necessarily to be completed in 2012, but definitely goals to keep in my mind always.

1. Grow the t&l family and teach our children to be kind, loving people.
2. Be a healthier person. Wake up earlier, eat better and be more of a yoga person.
3. Open an online clothing shop.
4. Become more of a Domestic Goddess: includes photography, drawing, sewing and cooking.
5. Continue to listen, and to inspire others about their individual worth, talents and potential.
6. Live in a little house with a tire swing. Huge goal right there.
