christmas 2012

so now that it's almost the end of january and everything, i thought it would be the perfect time to blog about christmas. i'm all about making the christmas cheer last as long as possible, apparently. the t&l family spent christmas in beautiful, bright arizona with my family this year! the highlights were definitely seeing les mis with my sisters & mom at the very last minute ("RUN!! RUN!!!") eating my oma's annual red beet soup on christmas eve (and annually spitting it into a napkin when oma isn't looking) seeing millie mae in her darlign little christmas pajamas, and making my mom cry when i gave her the personalized family calendar i made for her. i think my new goal for christmas time is to make her cry. it's not hard to make moms cry so why not!
by the way, this is the photo i used for the cover of her calendar. a complete family photo of my family didn't exist at the time so i photoshopped in travis, michael (my brand spanking new brother-in-law!) and little mills.
we took new family photos shortly after christmas... but i think this one will go down in history as "most awesome like ever".

glad tidings

this week, i

• painted my nails all sparkly
• helped my in-laws rip out carpet
• helped my bro-in-law to scrub a house
• dropped off a motorbike for a friend
• ate at B Dubs (we HEART B dubs)
• did all of our Christmas shopping via target online (heaven bless online shopping)
• read three books, including my ALL TIME favorite: Pollyanna.

it's been a beautiful week. I am so grateful for the time to nap and for remembering how important it is to play Pollyanna's glad game. I was so lucky to find that book!

the above photo has nothing to do with this week in the slightest, it's from jake & amy's wedding back in October. I always like seeing photos I forgot had been taken of trav & me. plus, you can slightly see sweet miss amy serendipity!

finals are over & the t & l family can officially breath again. we can also do dishes, cook dinner, fold laundry and play with friends! all things that haven't happened lately. t & i are not in school for the next few months, so it's back to peace love lauren for me! here's a little christmas cheer to kick off the end of finals.

christmas review twenty ten.

hello dears. christmas has winded down but there is still christmas cheer bouncing off the walls here at our house, and so are we. seriously. we got boxes and bags and stockings and dump-trucks filled to the brim with chocolates this year, and it's made things here in the P home a little crazzy. little Ty has been running around the house with his hands in the air for quite some time now, though he shortly took a break to try and stuff his head into the opening of his Elefun. 

it's a downright party up in here.

i'm home sweet home in my lovely arizona. 

trav & i are totally soakin up the sun.

we spent all of sunday in the airport

because our flight was delayed.
& delayed again.
& then we missed it.
& then we got another flight two hours later,
& then that one was delayed.
i love airports.

it has become tradition to hit up QT first thing once in arizona.
oh. my. gosh. i feel like i cannot fangirl enough about this perfect gas station from heaven.
well, maybe i can.

my best friendie nate picked us up from Sky Harbor.
& he hooked me up with an ipod nano for christmas
& when he sneezes, jelly beans come out.
what i'm trying to say is, nate rocks.

i'm wearing flip-flops today!

it's christmas time in boise-land

& all through the house, not a creature is stirring. not even a mouse.

wait no. 

that's not right. 

there's a family reunion in the W home this weekend, and the home is filled to the brim with cheery people, laughing voices, and christmas treats. tons of treats.

i like family. i like my very own family that i get to see TOMORROW, & i like my new family very much, with all of the treats & all of the sweet personalities & all of the little ones who call me "Auntie Daisy".
i know. the cuteness of it makes me want to throw up with joy, too.
anyway, just know that i'm a happy girl.
& that i am having oh so much fun.

they would add so much to any bookshelf. my heart is yearning. basically.

& last but not least, i want to have my gallery wall. finished. 

mostly i just want a wall for my gallery to go on... but that's another story. i can't wait to look back on my finished project and smile.

and yes, my imagination's first sentence was "give me cookies NOW" and she's kinda spoiled.

but, the real lauren knows to be much more patient, and to wait for a lottery winning, or a lack of student loans before she creates just the home she wants.

what a fun adventure it will be.

what i really want for christmas, is to see my sweet nubs in arizona,

 to get a nice, long kiss from the man of my dreams,

& to remember that babe in a manger and the fact that he lives. 

oh what a wonderful christmas this will be.
