burg baby shower

sweet friends put on a sweet shower for me and baby girl this week! everything was WAY TOO CUTE and i had so much fun. thank you thank you to everyone who came & showered me with love!

my best friend's wedding

well guys, SHE'S MARRIED!
 my girl is a sadie married lady now & i just know she'll be good at it!
the sealing was beautiful. after these two were sealed for time & all eternity, the guests were able to file past them on the way out the door to offer congratulations & give hugs. i waited my turn as patiently as i could, but i COULD NOT wait to tell her how very proud i am of her for choosing a temple marriage and better yet, choosing a man who could take her to the temple. even though marriage is definitely no walk in the park {though it can, in fact, include a few lovely walks in the park!} i know that this is what will truly bring them happiness. Heavenly Father will continue to bless their love to grow! i had too many things i wanted to tell her in that moment, but when my turn came for the congratulations, i couldn't hold in the tears. and then, she couldn't hold in the tears. and suddenly we were this tragically silly blonde duo--hugging & sobbing & smiling. unable to talk and holding up the line. me with a belly & her in white. the best of friends! it was a moment to remember.
 i am so happy for my girl, and i am so grateful for a Heavenly Father who prepared a way for us to be sealed in families for eternity.

DIY baby mobile

i just finished a mobile for baby girl's room! it took many hours of cutting circles & hot gluing, but i am so very happy with how it turned out. i saw this mobile on pinterest a few weeks ago & fell in love with it, but didn't feel like spending almost $200 for it. so, i made my own!
& i just love it.
i hope baby girl does too!

• sitting on the barcelona chair!!!!!!!&^%$$^*!!!
• realizing i have a semi-disappearing tummy?
• ICE CREAM
• meeting Bozart, WRJ, and heaps of other designers.

home tour

our home sweet home!! we are settled into our new apartment now, and liking the new space very very much. things i like about our new home the most:

• WINDOWS. {we have always lived in a basement apartment}those babies do not stay shut. 
• the way our front door is positioned on the complex, we basically have our own front lawn. 
• we are the managers now, so we get $100 off of rent. holla!
• it's slightly bigger than our last apartment & so WARM! {basements are cold. always cold.}
• bigger closet. nuff said.

between homes

t & i are currently living in two apartments, and i must say we're liking it! it's the middle of move in week around these parts. we're lucky enough to have a whole week to do the move, so we are taking our sweet time about things. i sort of feel like we're camping! our bed is set up in the new apartment, so that's where we slept last night, but the water heater only works in the old apartment. so we traipsed back downstairs to shower this morning all bleary eyed & in our jammies... it was the funniest thing.

i can't wait to see our new place come together.

the rug i ordered from urban outfitters just came, and holyohmygosh it is perfect. i looked high and low for a fabulous looking rug with a fairly low price & let me tell you.... it wasn't easy. i was really impressed with urban outfitters rug selection, buy all of your rugs from them!

we are moving!

it's only to upstairs, but we're so excited to move out of a basement... we couldn't be happier. we get a new environment but get to keep our old ward & neighbors! it's a win win.
we stayed up late last night making a pro/con list about the move {the only way to make decisions, really}. actually, scratch that. i made a pro/con list & asked questions while travis & my brother played zombies. then i made a point system to further decide from our pro/con list... sometimes i am a psycho.
but it all worked out good as gravy, cause we're movin'!

and with a new environment, comes new decor. i will be a whirlwind of interior design for the next few weeks. and it will be faaaabulous!!!

i'm an interior design student. this means that i spend all of my time in the interior design department on campus & it never gets boring. not even once. i love everything that i am learning and i am pretty good at it, too! except for my drawing classes. i am a not-so-great drawer. yet. {smile}

because i am an interior design student, i subscribe to design magazines. while flipping through i found a photoshoot of keri russell's home & i fell in L.O.V.E.

the color scheme feels so natural. i love the giant floor mirror in her bedroom, and the armchair in the bathroom? who thinks of that? gorgeous. 

a surprise inside

iiiiii found a table & chairs at the thrift store the other day. they are perfect in color, shape and comfort! i love them. mucho mucho. when i happened upon them, travis was at work. quickly, i made the decision to surprise him with the beauty of this table & chair set.
I called up a friend with a truck, set it up in our home & sold our old table all before T came home.
when he did, it took him a surprisingly long time to notice the new beauty {poor guy was tired i suppose} now we're happily breaking in our new-to-us table & chairs and having lots more dinners! hurray!

shades of gray

recently, i overheard my manager saying that we'd be allowed to paint our apartment.

since then, i've been dreaming in paint colors. it's pretty dangerous when i get an idea for a new project in my little noggin... travis can attest to this. i've been trying to think of a pretty neutral color for most of the walls, other than beige {because beige = poo}. while looking through some inspiration, i've fallen in love with gray.

beautiful, right? the last photo is my absolute favorite. it's so crisp, light, and airy! it looks like a home where i can just melt. i live for melty houses. travis may or may not be seeing more gray in the future!

we had a big show at sammy's over the weekend, and i definitely made benton paul and john allred a pieshake. this pieshake, to be exact. totally. awesome.--------------------------last night, i designed a home in my dream. it was beautiful and light, rustic and warm. iiii loooooved iiiit. i wish i could have taken my camera into my dreams. i'll just have to remember it always until t & i get to design a home of our own someday! here's to dreaming!
