when travis spends all day at work, i sometimes get mega bored.

i loved this weekend. travis didn't have to work, and we were able to attend his cousin's wedding, go swimming {i live for swimming!!} go on a date with friends and make a trip to the temple. it was a wonderful end to a wonderful week. i can't wait to start another.happy monday!

Tripods, awkward and strippers

I think that if I were a stripper, and I owned this shirt, my name would be Candy. Candy Cane. >>>T got me a tripod for Christmas! I think you can tell a little bit, since {at least in my opinion} the amount of awkward in my photos has increased. Or, i just might laugh & model pose in my beige kitchen all the time.Yes, let's go with that.

fish, motherhood and mashed potatoes

hey holla hey.
today we drove our friends to the airport & promised we'd feed their fish while they're gone. they have a lot of fish. think nemo meets the little mermaid. that many fish. this may or may not turn out well, considering my reputation with fish.

things on my mind lately.

• i am not impressed with rick perry. not in the slightest. 
• i want to snip my hair again. more edgy!
• i love love love love love love love love love love love love interior design. and travis.
• i want to start an interior design blog. it will be filled with lots of pictures and design ideas! plus, updates with what i'm doing at school. this way, peace love lauren won't be ambushed with interior design-ish things 24/7... you have no idea how much restraint went into the last few posts.
• i am baby hungry. but this is no surprise, i've been baby hungry since i was seven. motherhood is something that i hold most dear, and something that i don't want to enter into rashly. one day t & i will have a little midge to have and to love. one day.
• i think i want sour cream mashed potatoes instead of cake for my birthday this year. just a huge steaming pot in the middle of july.

the married student life

yesterday was a day of homework, but also a day with no classyesterday was a lounge day.we sprawled a blanket out on the floor, computers at the ready. travis made our family cookies and later we forked mac n cheese right out of the pot while the news was on in the background. i just love student life with that man.

i saw this large, striped beauty & knew i could make something wearable out of it!  rock on.
i just took it in & sewed a hem around the top & bottom. voila! it's the perfect summer skirt.hope to do some more refashions in the future!

i'd like to share with the blog world my favorite new skirt in the whole entire world.







it's a Penguin Classic. Fabulously vintage. I found it in a tiny shop while in downtown boise with my shayla-in-law! the print, the pleats, the waistband are all to die for! gah!

{oh & these photos are making me realize just how very beige that certain corner of our apartment is. gross. i think a makeover may be in the near future. have a happy day, everyone!

sometimes when i walk out the door, i feel like my outfit sings louder than i ever possibly could. today was one of those days. i am in love with color, i've always been drawn to more colorful walks of life and i believe color describes things that words aren't able to! color effects people in amazing ways, i even remember hearing that a certain football team painted the inside of their guest locker room light pink, because light pink is calming and soothing--exactly what you want your opposing team to feel like at the start of a game! oh i just love the amount of smiles that can come from a color.i certainly want color to be a part of my life for keeps.

i felt like being a little 1970's up in here today. white tee, jeans rolled up, headband? groovy. the only thing more groovy is spending eternity with that man there:
groovy.i've got a long day at the pool ahead of me, i'm planning on getting particularly sun burnt by tomorrow. {because sunscreen doesn't always help at the beginning of the summer} skin cancer, here i come!p.s. i totes love my job so far. we have a killer staff and everyone enjoys working as a team. can't wait till we open to the public!

we had a big show at sammy's over the weekend, and i definitely made benton paul and john allred a pieshake. this pieshake, to be exact. totally. awesome.--------------------------last night, i designed a home in my dream. it was beautiful and light, rustic and warm. iiii loooooved iiiit. i wish i could have taken my camera into my dreams. i'll just have to remember it always until t & i get to design a home of our own someday! here's to dreaming!

hubs has officially reached model status. HOT.-----------------------------------I've got a secret guys. i have no idea what a chambray shirt is. I've noticed people referring to their denim shirts as "chambray" so you know... let's hope i'm right.I'm all for fancy words, i say "Target" in french as much as the next girl.------------------------------------ T & i are busy birds lately, I'm working 30 hours at my new job, a full time student plus my job at Sammy's, and Travis has school full time, works full time, and studies full time. We a totes busy birds! Last night we decided to take a break from studying and got a redbox to cuddle.We both fell asleep on the couch and woke up late for class this morning.Yeah..... our romance quadrant = lame.

my name is lauren, and i like to party. you wouldn't know it though, i am so white-- i could pass as a hermit! minus the beard. white skin is a bit of a commodity for me. being an arizona girl, i never had to try too hard to catch some rays. luckily, i start my new job as a head lifeguard slash swim instructor this week!soon i'll be hot & spicy tan like usual,& i'll smell like chlorine 24/7 {think travis will like that?}
