Vday 2013

  

valentines day is the best isn't it? so much love. so much PINK.
our valentines began with a very pink breakfast & a whole lot of dancing to Frank Sinatra in the kitchen. gosh i love our family. think i say that enough? the rest of the day was like a giant box of surprises specially wrapped just for me. trav lined up a group of people to corner me at Sammy's and sing As Long as You Love Me {i've never really been a Beiber fan... until now!} so i was thrilled & a totally happy chick. we went out to lunch and a few hours later were driving down main street. trav stopped the car in the middle of traffic & told me to get out & go in to Form Salon. i was like "whaaaa?" we have friends there, so it wasn't totally random... and when i walked in i was told i was getting an hour massage! SUCH a happy camper!
i love that heart head. so much. the rest of the night was spent at the dollar movie with some pretzel m&m's & my favorite guy.

i hope your V Day was a thing of total joy.

heart head

 

This was trav's Valentine's present to me this year.
He knocked on the door and handed me a rose.
And when I asked how his day had been,
He turned around and made jazz hands,
Showing me his newly shaved heart-head.

Some people wear their heart on their sleeves.
Travis wears it shaved into the back of his head!
I love that guy.

Valentines Cabin

all day last saturday, travis was acting weird. we had plans to go take photos of the mountains and play in the snow later that day, i didn't really want to go. i was feeling tired & poopy. but i said, "i'll go, because you want to so badly". And he did, I'd never seen him so excited to take photos before. then he started acting weirder. stepping out of the room to take phone calls, packing up the car with blankets, pillows and my make-up? when i asked what they were for he said, "duh. an eagle scout is always prepared!" so i just let it go.
thirty minutes of driving went by and i asked what the heck was going on. then we parked. i looked at the sign: "Kelly Canyon Ski Resort". We were going snowboarding!!! I was the happiest girl in all the world.
it felt so good to be on the mountain, shredding the gnar, and riding the oh so romantic ski lift with my man. i felt so incredibly lucky.
the time came for the park to close, and we drove out of the parking lot with a huge and tired smile on my face. but, instead of turning left... we turned right. i said, "wrong way! maybe there's a place up here to turn around?" and travis just smiled.
then we parked again. travis walked up to a lonely little cabin marked "Private" and walked right in. i was so confused! i followed after him and saw the greatest surprise yet, a sweet Valentines set-up just for us. What a lucky girl I am, I felt so very loved!

the next day was Sunday, and we had the whole park to ourselves. we watched old movies, went sledding, ate hobo dinners and had too much fun. oh how i love that man of mine.

Valentine

Today, Travis & I are three time Valentines! We have been romantically involved for over three years now. it may be a little silly but, that still just boggles my mind. I'm the girl that had a limit on all of her boyfriends; when two months came around i was always on to bigger & better things. But with Travis, it was different even from the beginning. No one could ever be better, not for me. I love that man of mine.
I love him, i love him, i love him.

LOVE in the air

it's almost Valentine's Day. i can't wait for all of the LOVE! to make the house look even more lovey-dovey i thrifted some frames, painted their bums white & added a few of my leftover felt hearts & a few printables i found. download them here & here.

over the weekend, travis surprised me with a romantic weekend up at a cabin, complete with snowboarding, sledding and SNOW!! it was such a perfect surprise, i felt so loved. but, more on that later.

DIY Felt Heart Garland

we had a lovely little Valentines party up in here! complete with valentines oreo truffles, strawberries and frozen hot cocoa. we used this tutorial to make the heart garland. except, i got a little too frustrated with the tiny hearts going through the dang big sewing machine this time around. i went with hot glue instead. it worked out just fine {smile}.
& now our apartments are all lovey-dovey! woooo!

a few more exciting things:
1. the vintage dress i'm wearing is from ande monster, that etsy site i reviewed many moons ago. the dress goes perfect with pearls & an apron, in case you were wondering.

2. today i won a Shabby Apple dress from have a cute day. & then i died.
this dress to be exact.

i guess it was my lucky day!

3. it may be silly but, i made a facebook page for this blog.

like i just made it. not even a load of laundry ago. 

it's fresh. we can be friends if you wanna!

a trip to walmart.

we hit up walmart this weekend. 

actually, we hit up walmart everyday this week.

i honestly don't know how it happened, but it did.

we are mainstream america, what can i say?

anyway, trav & i had lots of fun in the Valentines section

i heart valentines day. { i heart it, get it? ahhh i kill myself.} it is a day filled with love & chocolates, it's the best day ever! when i was little my mama always made valentines special for us. when we came home from school, we knew the table would be decorated in pinks & reds, glittered with hearts and tiny treats. it was something i looked forward to most! i hope to come up with my own traditions one day, to make valentines special for my kiddies as well.

& i think i've found my first tradition.

what could be more perfect?

i just about died when i saw it. ask travis, victory dancing ensued.

i want to make these for my little family one day.

but, we didn't buy it. travis said, "no money." & that i had to wait.

i almost cried.
