Rapture

so, how was everyone's Rapture?
i'm glad we're all alive & well {smile}
i saw this on my way in to sammy's & had to laugh.
the chicky who made it sat nearby and sporadically would point & cry,
"you see? the rapture is upon us!"
then she got tired and came in to buy a shake.
she was delightful.

did you see anything like this yesterday?
have a relaxing Sunday!

a morning.

today i worked early early.
i woke up a little late.
i stumbled out of bed onto the pile of clean laundry on the floor {it's a bad habit}
and two minutes later, left for work.
i smelled bad.

but you know what?
it's ok. because trav looked way kissable still asleep in our bed,
& kiss him i did. mmmm!

also, i noticed this very persuading sign on my walk to work.

umm. ok.

Happy Thursday!
Go to church this weekend!

peace & love

because he is the BOMB like tick tick
& because he loves me. mmm!

please excuse my shame,
i get kinda "buuutidon'twannagotopier1withoutshoooes" type o crazy in the morning time.

have you ever been given breakfast in bed?
doesn't it rock!?

i like art.

all kinds of art. {though surrealism freaks me out a tad bit.} i looooove giving my eyeballs & mind some happy time... art basically rocks.
this weekend trav & i enjoyed the magical city spectacle of Art in the Park: a tiny festival of local artists & sculptures. ohhhh how fab it was.
we saw cool metal sculpture of dogs and frogs, an ostrich and life-size moose. awesome!
&& we saw lots of oddly dressed people.
{a very old woman was clad in a full-body, velvet green jumpsuit.... it was hot.}
but, i've come to find that boise is chalk FULL of 'em {smile}

my camera is still out of commition. sorry.
but, here's some art that the rugged-&-manly trav found for me!

pencil art. check it.

like whoa.

tires make me feel good.

yesterday at Les Schwab,
{it's a tire store. but if you say it in a snooty french voice, it sounds semi-awesome.}
a tire man came up to me & started telling me about a Lizzie McGuire poster that's in his daughter's room.
& i was thinking, "oh how nice for you! but uhh... random?"

so he kept mentioning this poster.
& i kept smiling like a half-interested loon.

but then he says,
"... so i see this poster every day and you know what? you look exactly like lizzie mcguire!"

& i just about squealed.
can you believe it!?
i look just like lizzie mcguire.
i LOVE lizzie!

i had a smug look to my face for the rest of the day as i harmlessly slid "HEthoughtilooklikeLiiiizzieeee!" comments into every bit of my conversation with Trav for the rest of the day.

we're still in honeymoon mode

but we're back in boise, and living at his parents house till our apartment comes through.
& the best part of married life SO FAR?
waking up. rolling over. smiling.
because i get to cuddle with the hot hunk of man in the bed next to me.
mmmm.

so our camera's broken.
cause we suck at taking care of things, basically.
but i'll try to paint an image of my favorite part of our honeymoon for you.
Rated PG for scenes of peril and mortification.

It's 3 in the am. We're almost to Twin Falls and about ready to pee ourselves with exhaustion--We need sleep and we need it bad. Trav is getting quite droopy-eyed, I take over the wheel to help my honey get some snoozes. I drive for about five minutes before my rearview is flooded with flashing blue, red & white lights.
yep.
i'm getting pulled over.
please kill me.

so the baldy cop man walks over to the window and asks, "Who's been drinking in the car tonight?"
& we were like "Whaaaaaa??"
cause... we hadn't been drinking. we didn't smell very good... but we hadn't been drinking.
so baldy cop man asks me-the driver- to step out of the vehicle.
& i was like, "double WHAAAAA?"

so i step out into the shivering Idaho air & i call out to that po-po, "but... i'm not wearing pants!"
because i wasn't.
my swim bottoms & a tee shirt. no bra.
that's how i roll with my new hubby, yo!
anyway.
i walk up to copper man- making sure i'm forming a straight line- and i calmly explain to him that it's against my religion to drink, and that i am very sorry that i was going 13 over the speed limit. many forlorn, pleading glances later i turn to get back into my car.
& awkward though the conversation was,
he let me go with just a warning!

trav says it was because i was all legs.
i say it was because we were still filled with magic from Disneyland,
& God likes us.

moral of the story: drive with pants on.
we did take pictures, i'll post some when i get them!
have a non-alcoholic day!

the low down

today, my cheeks were back to norman!
they still hurt like fudge, but were no longer truffle-like. which is a win-win.

today, i was a substitute at night swim lessons. i love being a sub, because i'm much more perky. i have energy, the kids have energy. it's a win-win.

today, i returned some silly presents to Ross & got to exchange them for whatever the hecks i want. i got sexy lime green containers to hold flour & what-not for my kitchen. & on my way out, i found boots.
perfect boots.
the most beautiful boots ever to have graced earth and/or discount shopping in general.
& they cost $2.50.
i air punched all the way to the cash register.
it was a WIN!

oh! & the too presh headband? one of my little young women made it for me for my bridal shower.
i just love it!
ksoanyways,
then i came home.
i learned that i went over $260 for the phone bill by talking to trav.
ugh.
there should be a national "ok" on phonebills to allow a chicky to talk to the love of her existence while he's gone. srsly. please kill me.
so... i'll be paying THAT overage with money i don't have to spend later this month. hurrah!

luckily, as always, the good outweighs the bad. kinda.
please kill me.

I worked out for the first time in forever tonight. During the summer when I was all awesome and in shape, I could swim three 500s (twenty laps) in a row. Can I do that now? Almost. I'll get there again! I love swimming. Frolicking and splashing around in the water is nice, but its when I'm just one-on-one with the water, just me putting as much as I can into it, that i truly love swimming. Each movement is a workout, each lap is a step closer to the goal. The goal of being totally hot while wearing that swimsuit, of feeling good when you walk into a room. What other workout can give you a sense of being completely left alone, just you and your thoughts? There's nothing better, there's no other workout I love more. I resolve to do it two, maybe three times a week. But seeing as right now I'm binging on a frozen pizza from Costco... we'll see how that goes.
